CLHS Prepares for Fall 2019 Public Service Day

File Photo: Fall 2018 Public Service DayCLHS has begun preparing for its Fall 2019 Public Service Day, which will take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

On that day, students will be travelling to various sites throughout Central Connecticut to perform community service as we have done for many years, but this year's event features an exciting new feature:  ALL of the arrangements for the day's event are being made by STUDENTS!  As part of their Capstone Project's Outreach component, each twelfth grader researched and selected a community service site that relates to the topic of his or her Capstone Project.  Each student then reached out to the site and made arrangements for themselves and a group of underclassmen to volunteer at that site on Public Service Day.

On the day of the event, each site will, of course, be supervised by teachers and other CREC Staff, but work at each volunteer site will be carried out under the leadership of a twelfth grade CLHS Student!

This event is looking to be our greatest Public Service Day ever!  More details are sure to follow, so watch this page and our school's social media for updates!
